Measuring Tips

Use a flexible tape measure, and if possible, have someone help you take measurements.

Wear something light and close-fitting—like leggings and a t-shirt—so your clothes don’t add to the measurements. Don’t wear anything thick or heavy, like jeans or a jacket.

Stand up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart.

Chest

With the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure the circumference around the fullest part of your chest.

Waist

With the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure the full circumference of your natural waist (at the crease when you bend to one side).

Hips

With the tape measure parallel to the ground, measure the circumference of the fullest part of your hips (usually around the top of your thighs, where they connect to your torso).

Sleeves

Starting at the base of your neck, measure along your shoulder, then down to the wrist. Your elbow should be slightly bent.

Inseam

Holding the tape measure vertically, measure straight down from your crotch to the floor. Take this measurement without shoes on.

Looks great but too small

"It’s a great looking hat but unfortunately I didn’t try it on first and turns it’s way too small, like someone else said it is more like a kid’s hat. I’ve never had any problem with a hat being too small for my head and that’s why I assumed it would fit but I guess there’s a first time for everything… bummer because it’s a really nice hat, I’ll probably just try to see if I have any friends who maybe want it for their kids."

Favorite hat for outdoor activities

"This is the second Zen Garden Tech 5-Panel hat I've bought and I'm probably gonna start collecting them! Colors are so cute (Cotopaxi has nailed the color blocking), fabric is comfortable, a little stretchy, and breathable. Very durable--I let these hats get dirty and wet and they hold up perfectly! These are absolutely my favorite hats for the outdoors and I plan to buy more in the future!"

"I do have a large head, but the design of this hat is far too small. Friends with a smaller head said the same. Doesn’t fit nicely and feels odd. A shame as the look is great."
