Traveling is a wonderful way to understand our interconnectedness and shared responsibility for this one planet we call home. It's a bridge to experiencing people, cultures, and landscapes. It enriches our lives and ideally, makes us better stewards of the Earth. Yet, it's important to acknowledge that tourism can sometimes strain the local environment. So, I want to share ten considerations with you for your next trip, along with some of my personal tips for responsible traveling!

Winter Layering
Stay warm and stylish with Cotopaxi
As the temperature drops and the days grow shorter, staying warm without compromising on style becomes essential. At Cotopaxi, we believe in crafting sustainable, versatile outdoor gear designed for every adventure, no matter the season. Whether you’re hiking through your next national park or going on an autumn camping trip, our range of warm layers will help you stay stylish, comfortable and cosy throughout the colder months.

Fleeces: Your go-to for chilly days
Fleeces are the perfect layering piece for transitioning into the colder season, they’re breathable, cosy and incredibly comfortable. With sustainability at the forefront, our fleeces are crafted using plush fleece and panelling details made from repurposed and recycled materials, materials would usually end up in landfill.
Wrap yourself in comfort with our new Teca Fleeces (available in half zip and full zip) and our newest arrival, Bacano Fleece Jacket, the ultimate choice for autumnal adventures!

Jackets: Insulation without the bulk
Our signature insulation layer, the Fuego Jacket is an all-round down jacket, made with light-weight durable and water-resistant materials, this is a must-have for anyone seeking a reliable all-season jacket.
Thanks to its compressibility, the Fuego easily stows away in your pack, ready to be pulled out when the temperature drops. Our Fuego design is available in a range of styles, including an insulated vest and a parka, so there is a style for everyone!
Our down is sourced responsibly in partnership with ALLIED Feather + Down. Do good with Cotopaxi!

Hats & Beanies: Top off your look with warmth
No autumn or winter look is complete without the perfect beanie. Our Wharf Beanie is a versatile, super soft design, and available in an array of colours (hello, Mauve!), it can be worn folded or relaxed, pairing effortlessly with any outfit this season.
For those chillier days our Teca Fleece beanies are the ultimate beanies for your next winter adventure. Featuring double layer banding and the same cosy fleece material as our fleeces, they’re the hats of the season.

Gloves, Mittens and Glittens: Keep those hands toasty!
Keep your hands warm with the new Teca Fleece Glittens, the ultimate hybrid between gloves and mittens. Designed with finger covers to keep your hands warm, while still allowing you zip-up, take pictures of the scenic landscape or use your phone! These glittens are the perfect blend of warmth and functionality for the season ahead.

Scarf: Wrap yourself in comfort & style!
The Teca Fleece Scarf channels cosiness and resourcefulness with our signature Teca plush fleece material and convenient zippered pockets, so you can keep your essentials close while also staying warm and stylish!
The new Fuego Down Scarf makes a bolder statement this season! With eye-catching, vibrant colourways and the water-resistant design of our Fuego jackets, it ensures you stay warm and dry all season long.

What are your top tips for those looking to start their backpacking journey?
- Pack Light, but smart. You don’t need to bring your entire wardrobe. Stick to the essentials, and remember, if you can’t wear it, eat it, or use it in multiple ways, leave it behind. Think of versatile items like a multi-tool, a good water bottle, and a lightweight jacket.
- Invest in good gear. Your backpack and shoes are your best friends. Spend a little extra on quality; your back and feet will thank you. Make sure to break in your shoes before your trip to avoid those nasty blisters!
- Plan but stay flexible. Have a rough itinerary but don’t be afraid to go off the beaten path. Some of the best experiences happen when you least expect them. Just keep safety in mind and always have a backup plan.
- Embrace that unknown backpacking is about exploring and embracing new experiences. Chat with locals, try new foods, and be open to new cultures. The world is full of incredible people and places waiting to be discovered.
- Stay positive. Things won’t always go as planned, and that’s okay. Rain happens, you might get lost, or you might miss a bus. Keep a positive attitude, laugh at the little mishaps, and remember that they make for the best stories later.

What are the essentials for your travel pack? Is there anything you can’t live without?
My essentials have really changed over the past year. As my love for travel has grown, so has my love for photography and videography. I would say now my number one essential I can't live without is my camera! It literally comes everywhere with me, capturing all the amazing moments and beautiful scenery I come across.
A second essential that’s vital to me is my snorkel mask. I absolutely love the ocean, and the feeling of seeing the rich sea life up close can't be beaten. It's so special. There have been a couple of times on my trip where I forgot my mask, and it honestly just ruins my day!
My third vital essential is my microfiber towel. It's incredibly efficient for fast travel since it dries in minutes. Plus, they're great because they fold away to small sizes, not taking up too much space in my pack. Super handy for those spontaneous swims and beach days!

How did you find the 42L Allpa Del Dia? What are your favourite aspects to the bag?
The 42L Allpa Del Día? Oh, where do I start? This bag has genuinely become my best mate for all kinds of adventures, whether I'm off for a weekend getaway or tackling a longer journey like the one I’m on now.
First off, the colours! I mean, every Allpa Del Día is one-of-a-kind, and there's something so fun about knowing no one else has a bag quite like mine. It’s like carrying a piece of art on my back.
Functionally, this bag is a dream. The 42 liters of space are just right—not too big to be unwieldy but spacious enough to pack everything I need and then some. The multiple compartments and pockets keep me organised, which is a big deal for someone who usually ends up with a suitcase full of chaos. The laptop sleeve is a lifesaver for when I need to work on the go. Also to add, this bag can get away as carry-on luggage too, so saves you some money there!
Comfort-wise, the shoulder straps and back panel are super comfy, even when the bag is fully loaded. I’ve hauled it around airports, on hiking trails and through city streets without any trouble. It’s like it’s been designed with real people in mind, who actually use their bags for real adventures.
And the materials—seriously tough but still lightweight. I’ve put this bag through some rough treatment, and it’s held up like a champ. Plus, knowing it’s made from repurposed materials just adds a little extra feel-good factor.
All in all, the 42L Allpa Del Día is like the Swiss Army knife of travel bags: versatile, durable, and a little bit quirky. It's become a staple in my travel gear, and I can't imagine hitting the road without it.
