Measuring Tips

Use a flexible tape measure, and if possible, have someone help you take measurements.

Wear something light and close-fitting—like leggings and a t-shirt—so your clothes don’t add to the measurements. Don’t wear anything thick or heavy, like jeans or a jacket.

Stand up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart.

Chest

With the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure the circumference around the fullest part of your chest.

Waist

With the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure the full circumference of your natural waist (at the crease when you bend to one side).

Hips

With the tape measure parallel to the ground, measure the circumference of the fullest part of your hips (usually around the top of your thighs, where they connect to your torso).

Sleeves

Starting at the base of your neck, measure along your shoulder, then down to the wrist. Your elbow should be slightly bent.

Inseam

Holding the tape measure vertically, measure straight down from your crotch to the floor. Take this measurement without shoes on.

"Went to the shop in Denver and had a nice experience. Staff were friendly and super-helpful. The base layers (got the tights and the shirt) are great. To be honest, I kind of feel like a superhero with them on (they kind of have an 80s Marvel aesthetic). Functional and comfortable. I do not burn up in them, which makes me think they modulate body temperature."

Bad fit

"I’ve loved all my products I’ve purchased from Cotopaxi. This was the first time I purchased a men’s tight. I love the design of the men’s tight, but when I put them on the waist was way too high, went above my belly button. Everything else fit pretty good but too much fabric at the waist area. I had to fold the extra layer of waist fabric down, so it fit correctly."

"Overall, a nice base layer. They are quite a bit thicker and heavier than I thought they were going to be for tights. I wish there was more stretch and less bulk. The fit is overall true to size and I appreciate that. For me, the cut is a little weird around the hips."

Base Layer Bottoms

"I like these pants after trying them a few times. Went out sledding in them and they definitely gave me the extra warmth needed. The fit is fine, I’m about 5’8 and the medium might go over my heel putting them on but I adjust them and all is well. I don’t feel like they encroach up to my belly much. The colors help since most base layer stuff is pretty much plain. Good job 👍"

"I bought these for my son and they were a tad small so he exchanged for one size up and loves them. They are perfect for hiking, biking and skiing in our cold weather months. I think I bought the wrong size as he said he’s normally a large and I bought medium."
