Use a flexible tape measure, and if possible, have someone help you take measurements.
Wear something light and close-fitting—like leggings and a t-shirt—so your clothes don’t add to the measurements. Don’t wear anything thick or heavy, like jeans or a jacket.
Stand up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart.
With the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure the circumference around the fullest part of your chest.
With the tape measure parallel to the floor, measure the full circumference of your natural waist (at the crease when you bend to one side).
With the tape measure parallel to the ground, measure the circumference of the fullest part of your hips (usually around the top of your thighs, where they connect to your torso).
Starting at the base of your neck, measure along your shoulder, then down to the wrist. Your elbow should be slightly bent.
Holding the tape measure vertically, measure straight down from your crotch to the floor. Take this measurement without shoes on.

Maybe my shower sandals can fit there, but not my regular shoes. Maybe if you're a small person or a girl, your shoes can fit there, but not for an adult male. "I have taken my bag on a few trips including one flight. I want to love it but there is a fatal flaw. The top attached bag when zipped on the zippers for that top section face towards the back of the pack. Meaning when you have the main compartment open or the bag lying on its back and you want to open the top part, everything falls out because the openings point down. If they just rotated the top part to attach the opposite direction it would be close to perfect. Unfortunately, this really impacts the usefulness of the bag and for the price drastically decreases my rating. It’s almost like they never tested it in real life because it was immediately apparent to me it should attach the opposite way. The detachable bag is also not very comfortable to wear crossbody. The strap attachments could be angled slightly or improved to make it a better stand alone pack."
